Highlights of New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week came and went by. So what’s left for us is to remember all the great memories, all the street style looks, the magical moments… Because I may not have been there (one day it’ll be there) but I followed every single detail through all the Instagramers that share their experience, Song of Style’s vlogs, all the content British Vogue creates & everything that made me feel like I was there!

That’s why after ending one of the most important weeks in the world of fashion, here you have what I think are the highlights of New York Fashion Week.

1. The Ralph Lauren‘s 50th Anniversary Show

It was one of the first shows of the week and where can I begin with? The venue was incredibly beautiful just in the middle of Central Park and there was an A-list front-row. Just by watching the show I fell in love with all the clothes, they had this retro vibe and the women’s dresses looked like they were taken from all our favourite dreams. They also included kids to the runway, which was the cutest thing ever. And if the show wasn’t enough, there was the most glamorous party following it. Let’s just put it in one word, it was magical.

2. Cardi B and Nicki Minaj Fight

I don’t think this should be put as a highlight, but let’s face it: it happened. During the Harper’s Bazaar‘s ICONS party two famous rappers, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, got into a fight.  And I’m not here to talk about how they should have avioded that (I think it’s common sense). What I wanted to say about this issue is that in times where women are fighting for her rights, we should be more united than ever and instead of fighting, we should be helping each other.

3. Street Style Faves

During fashion week our favourite people we get inspiration from, takes the street and with them the street style photographers. That’s why it’s the best time to search for some inspiration on what to wear for the next season. Here you have some of my favourite outfits from this NYFW!

4.  A drizzle show

It might have been raining while it happened and this probably made it even more amazing, but the Rodarte show was totally worth it! Just look at all the dresses, they seem to be taken from a fairy tale! It was its first show after they decided to move to Paris and I think they totally made a really good comeback. The texture of the dresses looked amazing, the crazy amount of frills gave us some Victorian vibes… It was a complete show!

5. The Trend We’ll Be Seeing Everywhere This Season

Besides all the new trends we saw on the runways, one trend that was in nearly all the street style looks were cowboy boots. Just see it for yourself! We already knew the western trend was coming this season, but this type of boots has become a must. And as always the inspiration comes from more expensive brands, but we can also find other options, here you have some:

There are quite expensive but here you have some ideas!

Ps. I’m thinking of turning this kind of posts into a series so I would be doing this for London, Milan & Paris. What do you think? Would you read this kind of posts?
