My Favourties From The MET Gala 2018

The first Monday of May was this week and so the MET Gala 2018 happened. And today I wanted to share with you my favourites of the other night.

For those of you who don’t know what it is, here you have a quick definition of it: It’s celebrated every year at the Metropolitan Art Museum of New York the first Monday of May to inaugurate the new exposition and raise money for the museum. And the guests must be dressed according to the theme of the year. This year it was about religion more exactly, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. And it’s all organized by the editor in chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour.

So after this introduction to the MET, let’s see what looks were my favourites!

The first outfit I want to talk about is from Gigi Hadid. She wore Versace, and let me tell you, she looked amazing! The inspiration behind the dress was the stained glass windows from cathedrals and I think it was such an original idea. Also, her make-up was on point!

And of course, I must mention Blake Lively because her Versace dress was so beautiful and she totally rocked it! I love that it has a long tail and the colours in it are precious, especially the burgundy. And her hair was on point, loved that messy bun!

The next one was impressive and totally unexpected (at least for me), Zendaya wore a Joan of Arc inspired armour also from Versace. And even though it was maybe a bit out of theme, she still pulls it amazingly. And her brown bob, didn’t go unnoticed.

And we can’t miss Rihanna, because we all know that year after year she always wears impressive looks. This year, she has gone with a pope inspired gown from Maison Margiela by John Galliano. And even though I think she took the theme a little bit serious, the final result was breathtaking.

I also think that Ariana Grande‘s dress must be mentioned and she’s wearing Vera Wang. Because even though it doesn’t look as impressive as others, I love the fact that her dress has the Sistine Chapel’s painting as a print. Another original interpretation!

Finally, one dress that I first I didn’t like it because I found it a bit out of theme and nothing special, but with time and knowing the inspiration behind, I like it more. This is Hailey Baldwin wearing Tommy Hilfiger. She wanted to seem a goddess, and she achieved. I also love the detail of the pink hair.

And these were my favourites! Of course, they were more I liked, but I can’t put them all in one post! :)

Also, let me know your favourites from that evening!

Love, M.
