Top 10 Books I Recommend

Cold and rainy afternoons are approaching and, what is better than spend them with a book meanwhile you listen to the drops of water hit the roof? I think that nothing, of course, sometimes you’ll have to study, tidy the room or you will have a meeting with someone. But if you can spend just a little bit of time reading and let you take in the magic of books I tell you it will be worth it.

And that is why today I’m going to share with you my TOP 10 BOOKS that I recommend reading this fall and winter. I’ve read these books during the last year and I totally recommend all of them for having a great time enjoying books and stories.

The first one is Geek Girl by Holly Smale, this one is a saga about a girl called Harriet Manners that suddenly it gets discovered and she starts modeling for well know brands. It tells you all the stories about a geek girl who is converted to a model and all the perks and disadvantages of being a geek model.

I’ve just read third books of this saga (I thought I read them in the correct order, but now I see that there are also the 1.5 book and the 2.5 book. If someone knows what is about please let me know on the comments) and I will absolutely recommend it to teenagers that love young adult fiction because you will feel identify with her. I read the first book about a year ago and with just looking at the back cover I knew I will love it and I wasn’t wrong.

The second book is Girl Online that as many of you will know is by the youtuber Zoella. I’ve watch some posts about it and I hear so many good reviews of it and that’s why someday I decided to buy a digital book to read it with my Kobo Ebook (A gadget that I totally recommend because is super useful). It was a easy lecture for when you want something quick and funny. It’s also a novel that so many of you will feel identify.

When I finished the first one the second part of the book, Girl Online On Tour was already in stores so, I of course read it and believe me it was as good as the one before. I will recommend the two books for a quick reading. And now the third book is soon at stores: Girl Online Going Solo! I will definitely read it.

Now is time for the usual book in a TOP 10 chart of books and it is… Harry Potter by J.K Rowling. I think this one doesn’t need any explanation, we all now the famous wizard that suddenly enters into Hogwarts. There he will meet his forever friends, Ron and Hermione. Together they will fight the dark arts.

I just love Harry Potter! And I will recommend it to every body, no matter how old is he or she. The thing I love the most is how you can see all the characters growing up and transform into adults. I also think that for being a long story with so many magical things everything is linked and has an explanation. Just read it!

This book is an old one an it is from Agatha Christe. Cause I read it a long ago I will put the text of the back cover here:

In the sprawling, half-timbered mansion in the affluent suburb of Swinly Dean, Aristide Leonides lies dead from barbiturate poisoning. An accident? Not likely. In fact, suspicion has already fallen on his luscious widow, a cunning beauty fifty years his junior, set to inherit a sizeable fortune, and rumored to be carrying on with a strapping young tutor comfortably ensconced in the family estate. But criminologist Charles Hayward is casting his own doubts on the innocence of the entire Leonides brood. He knows them intimately. And he’s certain that in a crooked house such as Three Gables, no one’s on the level…

I started reading some of Agatha Christie books at the beginning of these year and I love it so much. If you like the kind of mystery and dectective, you will love it! Apart that is a classic book that was written a long time ago and I think is curious to read it because you can see how they use to investigate things before technology.

Moving into a different category, this time is more a science fiction and post apocalyptic one. The first book is the Maze Runner by James Dashner. Thomas, a boy wakes up in an elevator surrounded with boys that like he their memories are also gone. He will have to survive and find what is the world outside. But just a day after he arrives the first girl ever appears with a terrifying message.

The book is the perfect gift for Divergent and Hunger Games lovers. It always has a surprise effect that you will never imagine and little by little the main characters discover the world around them that changes everything. Defintely a most for the post-apocalyptic book fans.

Another one is The 100 by Kass Morgan, this one I’ve read a long time ago so I don’t remember a lot. But what I remember is that it was one of these books you can’t turn it down for the intense story that is happening. There are some amazing characters wihch combined make an awesome story.

The book is about a group of 100 delinquents that arrive to the Earth with the idea of repopulate-it. They will have to discover if the Earth is a compatible planet for humans after living on spaceships for years because the radioactive surface on Earth.

Let’s change into a different kind of book. This one was one of My Summer Favourites and it is Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances by some great authors: John Green, Maureen Johhson and Lauren Myracle. It’s about three different love stories that have a the same ending. It all begins with a snowstorm and the town is transformed into a love spot.

I read it in summer but, I think is perfect for days around Christmas to spread some festive vibes. I really like it how the three stories written for different authors have the same beautiful ending.

Now, one that was a world best-selling (okay, as many books I mentioned in this post) and it is Wonder by R.J Placio. I love how the author talks of the poroblem that Auggie has. But the thing I like the most is all the reactions and behavior of the different characters that they feel super real and you can feel identify with some character.

Auggie Pullman was born with a facial deformity and after years of studying at home is now time to go to school and deal with the real world. In the school he is going to find all types of people and he will have to learn to live with all his new mates. This book explains how hard can be a year at school.

Now we are again moving into the post apocalyptic category and what better book to recommend that the Hunger Games by Suzane Collins. The nation of panem is a country that consists of  Capitol and 12 others poorer districts. The Capitol has invented the Hunger Games to keep all the districts in its place and with no riots. The Games consist to send one girl and one boy from each district to it, there they will have to fight to survive but only one can stay alive. When Katniss’s young sister is selected to go to the Games she offers volunteer to take her place and it all starts.

I really like reading this book and all the characters that appear. In each book of the trilogy appear more and more new characters and new ideas of the Capitol and the 12 districts. I will totally recommend it!

Finally, another from the same category is Divergent. In Beatrice’s world her city is divided into five factions, each dedicated to cultivating a different virtue: Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Every year all the sixteen-years-olds have to select a faction where they will live all their live. Tris has to choose between her family or her real faction.

I really like this trilogy with a heart breaking final. In all the three books there is a wow effect that keeps you in tension. I will defintely recommend it to all the Hunger Games lovers.
